
Kristen Addicks
Kristen Addicks, (RYT 500/E-RYT 200) has embodied movement her entire life. Training in many forms of dance and yoga has given her a special combination of skills. Her classes flow gracefully – focusing on alignment, working the body in a balanced way, and linking poses intelligently. She aims to build strength and flexibility in the body and a sense of calm and stability in the mind.
Kristen teaches hatha, vinyasa, power and hot yoga at award-winning studios and health clubs in Marin County: Red Dragon Yoga, Sukha Yoga, Bodhi Yoga and The Bay Club. She has trained and mentored other teachers , led numerous workshops, and written a yoga blog for Marin Magazine.
Kristen leads international yoga adventure retreats. She has taken clients to Galapagos, Angkor Wat, Sicily, Morro Bay and all over Mexico. He next retreat is to Patagonia in the Spring of 2025.
Kristen believes the ancient yoga texts teach important life skills that can benefit everyone. Because of this, she frequently leads an online workshop on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
Kristen loves teaching athletes and tailoring her yoga classes to meet the specific needs of their sport. Clients have included:
- Punta Mita Surf Camp with professional surfers Coco Nogales,
- Novato High School Girls Lacrosse Team (State Champions), Redwood High School Girls Basketball Team,
- Novato High School Boys Lacrosse Team, Redwood High School Boys Lacrosse Team,
- Golfers and tennis players at Marin Country Club,
- Dancers at Marin School of the Arts,
- and the Punta Mita Beach Festival which hosts SUP races.
Kristen Addicks received her 500-hours of training through YogaWorks and would like to mention some her teachers/mentors: Janet Stone, Roseangela Silvestre, Leslie Desaulniers, Sharon Gannon and Judith Lasator.
Her other passions include being outside in nature, water sports, travel adventures, creating community, wildlife and caring for our environment.
