Punta de Mita / Dia de Los Muertos
Fall 2019
This yoga retreat takes place in the picturesque fishing and surfing village of Punta de Mita set just 40 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta. Our beautiful accomodations at La Mision de Mita offer views of Banderas Bay and the surrounding mountain region and a serene spot to watch surfers catch waves, fishing boats roll in and out of the picturesque harbor, and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the waves.
You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some of the many activities this unique location has to offer such as a snorkeling, surfing, paddle boarding, swimming, beach walking, a visit to Sayulita, and a day trip to the Marieta Islands where we will see caves and the rare Blue Footed Boobies. We will be there during Day of the Dead and will get to experience this spiritual and beautiful custom with the locals as well as relax in the hammocks, by the pool, at the beach or in the hot tub.
YOGA
Find your flow with Kristen Addicks while enjoying the sights and sounds of birds singing, wind rustling the trees, and gentle waves. Daily yoga classes will be suitable for all levels and include yoga philosophy, breath work, challenging flows, restorative poses, assists, chanting and meditation. Kristen will provide modifications for beginning yogis and opportunities for advanced practitioners to grow their practice. Each yoga class will ensure you are ready, rejuvenated, and recovered for the next activity.
ACTIVITIES
Enjoy the crystal blue warm waters just steps from our condos.
We will visit Islas Marietas by boat for snorkeling and birding. Protected as a federal park preserve, these islands are home to a number of native wildlife species including the Blue-Footed Boobies found here and in the Galapagos Islands.
Surf lessons with local instructors on friendly beginner waves or instead try Stand Up Paddle Boarding. There will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy the warm tropical waters which average around 80 degrees at this time of year.
